Music industry veteran John Atterberry died Monday, Dec 12th after being fatally shot in the face and neck on Friday, Dec 9th by Tyler Brehm, 26, of Los Angeles, who terrorized the streets of Hollywood, repeatedly firing a 40-caliber handgun at motorists. In a Facebook post, Atterberry’s older sister Cynthia described her loss: “Today I lost my JOHN, my baby, my guardian angel, my protector, my little brother at 3:00 p.m. I do not understand now nor will I ever is why such a senseless act of violence was inflicted upon such a GOD-fearing, kind, compassionate, loving individual,” she wrote. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Dec 21st at 12 noon at West Angeles Church of God in Christ located at 3045 Crenshaw Blvd.

This is an unthinkable incident. Certainly an occurance that could shake the faith of the family. Please say a quick prayer of encouragement for the family. God is soveriegn and will get the glory. May we all learn that God’s ways are often above our understanding and that we must stand firm regardless.
