I sat down with Scott Free about City Takers uniting with DaSouth.com’s co-owner Bobby “Tre9” Herring for an 11 City Tour. City Takers services in Atlanta, GA and Hip Hop Hope Tuesdays in Houston, TX have both been putting in work. Both ministries have served their communities faithfully for well over two years. In an effort to promote unity these two ministries joined forces to empower artists to be “more intentioned about being more fruitful,” informs Freestyle Missions founder Scott Free. ”Our goal is to raise up urban missionaries to advance the kingdom and become city takers in every city.”

“During the day we will bring all artist together in that city. We will have workshops, train the artist to be more effective in outreach, more into evangelism. We will break bread and the have the City Takers event at night,” states Scott Free. The tour will feature different artist in different cities and kicks off in Nashville, TN, February 2012. Featured performances from D. M.A.U.B. and Brother Tone. “I am 100% behind Scott and Tre, who have been instrumental in directing me toward a more mission-minded mentality. As a result, I’ve seen God bring an increase in opportunities for me to serve and grow,” shares 2011 Kingdom Choice Award Winner D-MAUB.
“Its all about multiplication, we want to multiply what we are doing in Atlanta and around the country. For us this is more than rapping on the mic. It stretches into feeding the homeless, looking after orphans, mentoring at-risk youth, visiting those in prison, providing toys or school supplies to under-served families, being active in schools with positive assemblies, remodeling homes for the elderly and more. Tre and I have been fortunate enough to establish non-profit organizations that keep us in full time ministry. We want to share that with our fellow brothers who we know have a calling of their own,” adds Scott Free in closing.
